Essie’s latest collection features eight translucent “sheer-as-silk” shades and one creamy lacquer fittingly called “white page.” If you’re not totally ready to commit to the entire full-size collection (even though you probably should) you can grab one of two mega mini kits in different color combinations to get started. They're currently available at Ulta.
Armed with my new palette and just the directions on the box, I aimed to find out whether the average gal with little artistic experience could really turn nails into “mini masterpieces."
The short answer is YES! It’s tons of fun and exactly like watercolor painting. It took me a few times to get the result I wanted and since it was my first try, I didn’t deviate TOO much from the tutorials I’ve seen online. Ultimately, I would be really interested in seeing what a real nail tech could do with the product, especially with different types of brushes and professional experience. Regardless, I think it’s a great way to get creative and could be a fun gift for any nail-obsessed friend or family member (you know who they are!)
Now go forth and express your inner Monet (or find an awesome nail tech!)
